Health Care

I think that teachers should get free health care and so are they family members. Don't you think we deserve the same benefit like those military service men and women? We do have an importance job in society and if we are absent because of health issues or family members is ill, there are so much our students miss from the curriculum.

I never thought of that before? I wonder if firefighters and police officers get free health insurance, since we all work for the state. I am not sure FREE but BETTER BENEFITS for the price would be nice.

Yes I agree. Educators make everything go, why not.

I do not think that educators should get free health care. I think that it is a benefit, and if teachers want to demand salaries that are equal to other professions they need to realize that you can't "have your cake and eat it to." If a school district wants to pay for health care it is a BENEFIT that may make that district more appealing than others.

Teachers are the most important professionals in society. Give them dental care too. Heck, raise their salaries by 1000%.

And buy them all new computers and fuel efficient cars.

No to socialized healthcare.

Sure, I'll take free health care. I'm not really sure if it's a necessity, though. How do you draw the line?

I think free health care is a bit extreme. There is no way the state could support that with tax money. It would become overburdensome (like the labor unions of the car manufactureres). A better solution is to simply increase pay or give teachers tax breaks.

I just don't see how this could be financed and I don't think that it would really boost student achievement or even teacher performance.
